Evaporative Cooling Coalition
A business-oriented non-profit advocacy group working to promote the retention and adoption of evaporative cooling technologies. We support smart cooling practices that save energy, reduce costs, and protect the climate. Our members include manufacturers, installers, engineers, programmers, and end users who believe in the power savings of sustainable comfort. This is currently an all-volunteer effort.
Some principals we like so far. Please contribute to nancy@nangeroni.net
1. Prioritize User Ownership
Local control, offline-first operation, optional cloud, and no required accounts.
2. Privacy by Design
Collect the minimum, process locally, encrypt by default, and make data deletion easy.
3. Open Source Strategically
Open protocols, APIs, and non-core code to build trust and interoperability; keep disciplined review.
4. Build for Reliability & Repairability
Stable firmware, long-lived hardware, modular design, and user-friendly troubleshooting.
5. Treat Service as Partnership
Be transparent, responsive, and open about fixes; use community channels to amplify support.

Roadrunner Comfort
Experience the Future of Evaporative Cooling
Say goodbye to the days of fluctuating temperatures and uneven cooling. With Roadrunner Comfort, your existing swamp cooler becomes a smart, efficient system that delivers consistent, personalized comfort—automatically.

Continuous Comfort™
Unlike traditional swamp cooler thermostats that cycle between on and off, Roadrunner Comfort uses intelligent pump control to maintain a steady, comfortable airflow.
Smart Control
By adjusting the wetness of the cooling pads based on real-time air temperature, it ensures that the air blowing into your home is cooled to within ±1°F of your set temperature. With a steady flow of constant temperature air, hot and cold spots virtually disappear.
Evaporative Cooling Forecaster app

The app helps you know when the outdoor weather will accomodate your indoor cooling using a swamp cooler. As you likely already know, a swamp cooler only works when the outdoor temperature and humidity are compatible.
If you live in an arid climate, like that in the Coachella Valley, you can save around $1,200 every single year from maximizing your evaporative cooler usage, offsetting your regular A/C.
With that degree of savings, we think you’ll find the app worthwhile.
